Yesterday, we discussed the controversy surrounding the boxing competition at Paris 2024 due to the participation of Algerian Imane Khelif and Taiwanese Lin Yu-Ting, who, after undergoing DNA tests, were found to have XY chromosomes.
The fights are taking place since the IOC allows countries to choose their representatives. On one hand, Lin Yu-Ting lost to the Russian representative, while Imane Khelif won after the Italian Angela Carini withdrew, stating that "it was too strong of a punch."

SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING RACE

In the Paris 2024 Olympics, a Chinese skater left everyone stunned with a completely unexpected strategy. Instead of following the usual pattern of starting the race at a slow and strategic pace, she stayed at the back of the group from the very beginning. However, before even completing half a lap, she started sprinting as if being chased by a pack of wolves.

The rest of the competitors, surprised and confused, didn’t follow her immediately, remaining stuck in their initial strategy. Meanwhile, the Chinese skater completed an entire lap and positioned herself behind the last skater, leading by a full lap.

When the group decided to sprint in the final laps, the Chinese skater simply kept pace with them, without needing to exert herself further.

What happened a couple of years ago at the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational in Kissimmee, Florida, seems like something straight out of a Sacha Baron Cohen comedy. During a high school race, one competitor decided that rules didn’t apply to him and, instead of overtaking his rival with effort, opted for the quick route: a surprise punch.

Apparently, this runner wasn’t even officially part of the race, but he decided it was the perfect time to recreate that epic scene from "The Dictator," where the protagonist, gun in hand, ensures there’s no competition left on the track.

SHOOTING THE GOALKEEPER IN THE LEG

During a second division football match in Brazil between Gremio Anapolis and Centro Oeste, a bizarre incident occurred when a police officer shot the local team's goalkeeper, Ramon Souza, in the leg with a rubber bullet. The conflict erupted after Centro Oeste secured a 1-2 victory, leading to a brawl between players from both teams. Despite police orders to stand down, Souza refused to back away and even made threatening gestures towards an officer, which led to the shot being fired. The goalkeeper was treated on the field before being taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The Brazilian police have launched an investigation into the incident, and Gremio Anapolis has expressed outrage over the use of force.
